What do you call a broken accordian?

Between working every single day, scrambling around doctorwhy comics, and sleep, I've achieved absolutely nothing this week. However. I did wash my car, and I bought an old, knackered, but gloruious accordian. These things pretty much were the highlights, and as such, they deserve photographs.

Let me show you them.

And now my new Most Favourite Thing In The World.

The straps are broken, and there's no panel on the left hand side, which means air escapes a lot - meaning I have to pump twice as often. It opens and closes without any keys being pressed, which isn't a Good Thing. The chords sound absolutely gorgeous, though, and the only thing that really bothers me is the keyboard section, which has a few notes that stick like buggery. I paid £20 for this at a local yard sale (yes, thank you, England does have yard sales, and they are advertised as such), so even if it costs £100 to fix the keys and put panelling on, it's still a bargain. This thing is gorgeous. I've never seen one with a curved keyboard like this. ♥♥♥

(For those who don't know, because I'm suddenly aware that a lot of people reading my flist are relatively new, I have a pretty big fetish thing for accordians since I started hanging out with Mr. lazenich, who owns about four himself. He taught me how to play mash the keys, and while I'll never be as good as him, I seem to have some sort of knack, I think. For creating A Terrible Din, at least. I'm currently attempting 'Song For Ten', and doing a good job despite having no strap and sticky keys. I could well be lying about the good job part, however.)

You'll have to bring your accordian over some time, and we can have a keyboard, keytar, accordian jam session!

Yes, the Keytar is an awesome instrument, but only if played in the proper way.

first off: *HUGS* cuz I haven't in awhile. secondly, your car is adorable. I could never drive with all those knick-knacks everywhere though, they'd be flying the way I drive. :) and OMG what a wonderful accordian! the paper between the ribs on the sides is just so beautiful; I love that marbled effect! and i see what you mean about the curved keyboard. wow, it's really unique... have you had it appraised?

I did google the name on it but someone said that if they're broken they're essentially worthless. Hard to imagine, huh? This one is just so lovely.

*hugs!*
